Additional information

Collaborative research with Bradford Royal Infirmary and supported by an EPSRC Challenging Engineering grant (EP/G029768/1). A new pulse-injection tracer method is developed to carry out one of only a very small number of studies that have measured and evaluated ventilation in a naturally ventilated hospital environment. Reported in a high quality journal, results have supported ongoing collaboration with Architects at Cambridge (EPSRC EP/G061327) to redesign ward layouts. Publication has led to discussions with leading international researchers and an invitation for Noakes to contribute a talk on natural ventilation for healthcare in a workshop at the ASHRAE 2013 conference in Vancouver.
