Additional information

This paper was the first paper in a long series of future papers and was the first to show that chemical inhibitors could be used to prevent erosion in oil and gas systems, Wang received PhD in 2007. It stimulated contracts with Baker Hughes, s.ramachandran@bakerhughes.com (Ismail PhD, 2012), BP, alan.crossland@uk.bp.com (£300K over 3 years), Shell, steve.paterson@shell.com (PhD Barker, 2012). Keynote talks by Neville at ABRACO corrosion conference Brazil, May 2012, NACE Corrosion US in 2010 and many invited talks by Neville at oilfield meetings in Aberdeen (2009/2010), Abu Dhabi (2009) and Houston (2010).
