Additional information
An invited presentation at meeting of International Hip Society describing the mechanisms of edge loading and high wear in metal on metal hips, due to rotational and translational mal-position. This evidence of the causes of high wear in metal on metal surface replacement hips contributed to the subsequent recall from further clincial use. Subsequently described in an invited clincial review paper, Fisher JBJS 2011, and in an invited lecture to IMECHE Joined at the Hip meeting in 2011. These methods have been applied in industry research funded by DePuy (contact Gisaac@its.jnj.com).
