Isolation of the new minor constituents dihydropyranochromone and furanocoumarin from fruits of Peucedanum alsaticum L. by high-speed counter-current chromatography
This paper arose from an international collaboration with the Medical University of Lublin in Poland. Regular visits and student exchanges now occur as an outcome of the collaboration and this paper was a result of one of the first visits. The novel liquid-liquid purification technology under research at BIB enabled a different separation profile to be obtained for a natural plant product, and this showed the presence of two components never before detected in this genus. A consequence is that the University of Lublin has now purchased its own liquid-liquid centrifuges from the Brunel University spin-out company, Dynamic Extractions (david.rooke@dynamicextractions.com).
