Additional information

The Babar experiment was one of the first experiments to generate “Big Data”. To extract results from this data meant running many thousands of computer jobs a day for many months. Stringent quality control is important to make sure all the data is analysed and none of it is analysed more than once. Identifying any faulty jobs, diagnosing the problem, and making sure that they ran correctly was a Brunel responsibility. This quality control is always important; and when one is making an absolute measurement of the decays modes of a particle, it becomes essential.
