An invitation to the International Ceramics Research Centre, Denmark resulted in 'Danish Series 1-5', referencing coastlines and their relationship to the built environment, particularly bridges, viaducts and harbours. (www.ceramic.dk). Clay form was used in its fired but unglazed state to explore the monumentality, longevity and the protective nature of coastline defences, with a material known for similar qualities. This was funded by the Crafts Council of Ireland’s Research Mission Award. Following invitation from Galerie Carla Koch (www.carlakoch.com) in Amsterdam, Danish Series 1-5 were exhibited (2009) and reviewed in Ceramics Monthly Feb.2010, Vol58, issue2. Galerie Carla Koch then presented the work at the Rotterdam Art Fair in Feb. 2010.

In 2009, Danish Series 3 was selected for the FE McWilliam Gallery; 'Designers and Makers’ exhibition, funded by EU Interreg, Banbridge District Council and the East Border Region fund. In 2010 Danish Series 1 was selected for the Northern Irish Craft Design Collective ‘Slow Burn’ exhibition curated by Gail Mahon at SpaceCraft, Belfast. Danish Series 1-3 were selected for the Cill Riallaig Arts Centre exhibition: ‘Pushing boundaries, Contemporary Ceramic Sculpture’, Kerry, Ireland.

Danish Series 1-3 were then selected by Dr. Audrey Whitty, National Museum of Ireland, Martha Donaghy, Director, Contemporary Ceramics, London and Les Reed, retired CEO of the Crafts Council of Ireland for the ‘transFORM’ national touring exhibition. This event was organised to coincide with the 2011 Crafts Council of Ireland 'Year of Craft'.‘transFORM’ began at the Farmleigh Gallery, Dublin travelled to the Millennium Court Arts Centre, Northern Ireland, the Source Gallery, Thurles. and the Limerick School of Art and Design Gallery, Ireland.

Danish Series 4 was acquired to the permanent collection of the Office of Public Works of Dublin City Council.
