<20>The tool (epSpread) that is presented in this paper, was used to successfully solve the IEEE VAST 2011 (Providence, RI) mini challenge. Tackling the spread of an epidemic from microblog (Twitter) data. The entry was awarded “Outstanding Analysis Using Custom Tools²”. There were 30 entries from around the world with solutions to this mini challenge, and 4 other awards. The paper presents six principles of storyboarding for visual analytics: composition, viewpoints, transition, annotability, interactivity and separability, the case study on the VAST data and one using London 2012 Olympic tweets
