"This volume involved the collection, analysis and scholarly editing of an extensive body of material, including the examination of a wide range of primary sources, collected over 5 years. The volume makes use of texts from 163 manuscripts held across 18 archives (including in North America): 92 other manuscripts had to be examined. From these sources, 151 relevant texts in Latin and Anglo-Norman French, were identified, which were then arranged to make 143 distinct edited texts, with full editorial apparatus and with additional analytical appendices of 20,000 words."
