Sociology of Theatre and Performance

This volume, commissioned in honour of my founding work in the eponymous discipline, contains previously unpublished research written exclusively for the book: an Introduction, a Bibliography, and three chapters: ‘Korean Shakespeare’, ‘Valery Fokin’s Russian Dialogue’ and ‘Diasporas and Multicultural Britain’. The book lists contributing essays published prior to 2008 on pages 389-90. However, the previously published essays have been substantially revised to accommodate the new context. Revision has involved not only corrections from earlier versions but also explanations, developments of argument and additional material to essays, necessary for the theoretical, conceptual and methodological emphases of the book as a whole.
