Additional information

<23>The paper proposes a new framework for robust automated segmentation of abdominal organs for computer aided diagnosis and laparoscopic surgery assistance. The paper is an extension of work first presented at MICCAI 2012 (oral presentation, 4% of 800 submissions). The conference paper also led to MICCAI Young Scientist Award to the first author. The work has contributed significantly to the award of £10M joint Wellcome/EPSRC IEH grant (PI: R. Razavi - to be announced) in which the developed technology will be used for the analysis of 20,000 ultrasound scans acquired during routine antenatal scans at St. Thomas Hospital.
