An Energy-Efficient Adaptive Transmission Protocol for Ultrawideband Wireless Sensor Networks
In this paper, a new energy-efficient adaptive transmission protocol for UWB wireless sensor networks, is described and evaluated over time-varying multipath fading channel conditions and multi-node interference. The idea of energy efficient sensor networks using UWB technology presented in this paper was incorporated in a project which has recently been funded by EPSRC in 2012 (EP/K002473: Digital Agent Networking for Customer Energy Reduction, £911,561). This four year project is a collaboration between the Universities of Essex and London South Bank with aims to develop and trial a new approach to domestic energy management using these UWB sensor networks.
