Building on the user engagement work, 3-months as visiting professor with the Research Supporting Practice in Education Team, OISE in Ontario was the basis for this review revised and updated in 2012. It was presented at a University of Birmingham invitation (VC, Prof David Eastwood) seminar and summarised in an LSE blog which has been viewed 4592 times following the keynote at a conference on research impact at LSE, June 2011, from which this special issue of Evidence and Policy emanated. Another keynote was given to the Israeli Academy of Science/ Ministry of Education conference in Dec 2012.
