Additional information

This paper presented and demonstrated a novel method for solving large-scale mixed-integer security constrained loss minimisation on the GB electrical transmission system. The benefits of the proposed methods where practically demonstrated within National Grid on large scale operational models of the GB transmission system. The scalability of the method was also practically demonstrated within the National Grid control centre with regard to increasing numbers of contingencies. The paper reports on National Grid sponsored industry led research performed through the EPSRC funded Brunel University Engineering Doctorate Scheme.
