Exploring the impact of technological competence development on speed and NPD program performance
A novel model of technological competences is presented, within NPD, by showing where they originate and how they evolve through organizational learning. The work surveyed 111 European best practice companies in six countries over a three year period (i.e., Ericsson, AkzoNobel). The findings demonstrate that practices such as appropriate climate, project portfolio management and technological alignment are essential for technological competence development which turns in higher levels of performance. It has opened a new area of technological competence investigation in corporate entrepreneurship research as evidenced [Martín-Rojas et al., 2013). The research has extended to the US (songmi@umkc.edu) and Australia.
