Stallard led the work on this paper throughout the process: the initial contact and discussions with the VIMS team that allowed a direct relationship in which the data used was provided to Leicester; the downloading, calibration, cleaning of the data; analysis of the data and leading the discussions about what conclusions could be drawn from this analysis; writing up these conclusions as a manuscript and working with the Nature editor through the submission and publication process. He was also a lead on the post-publication press activities.
