This monograph (252pp) is the primary output of five years' work. It demonstrates three key hallmarks for doubleweight: i) Depth of source base using many thousands of sources: planning documents; council minutes; newspapers; business records; letters/emails/faxes; financial records; trade directories; committee reports. These were located in more than thirty different archives and repositories in Britain and France; ii) Difficult access – more than 70% of these sources are in private collections, were not catalogued nor digitised +/or required authorisation and clearance from businesses and national/local governments; ii) Articulation of a new theoretical framework for understanding 'the spatial turn'
