This paper presents a systematic comparative evaluation of ten Natural Language Generation (NLG) systems that differ in the degree to which automatic methods were used in their creation. As noted by the reviewers, this is the largest number of NLG systems that had been comparatively evaluated. The paper received the Best Paper Award at ENLG 2009.
