The HLA class II locus confers susceptibility to podoconiosis in an Ethiopian population

I made a substantial contribution to the conception and design of the study and wrote the successful grant application to the Wellcome Trust that funded this research. I was PI/grantholder for the study and ensured it was properly executed and I supervised the graduate student who collected the data. I also contributed intellectually to the data analysis and interpretation which was led by a collaborator with expertise in genetic statistics. The graduate student (first author) wrote the first draft of the paper which I then critiqued for important intellectual content.
