Additional information

This paper describes the development of the world’s first low pressure receiver refrigeration system for commercial refrigeration applications. This new technology enables cooling to be delivered flexibly to a range of temperatures, conditions and with very high efficiency. The concept has been subsequently commercially developed and is now produced by a leading UK manufacturer (Adande Refrigeration, contact: Ian Wood, Managing Director, iwood@adande.com). The technology has been highly successful with sales of 115 units worldwide and recognition with a number of prestigious international awards.
