Additional information

This paper presents new insight into small column group performance and key design considerations are established beneath isolated pad/strip foundations that addresses deficiencies in current design practice. Industrial impact is achieved through the project industrial partner (Keller Geotechnique) via implementation of revised design guidance for settlement control of small group installation. Contact: Dr Alan Bell - alan.bell@keller.co.uk (retired UK MD). The work also established a bespoke experimental system which has enabled a further 3 PhD’s projects in pile engineering.
