Additional information

We propose a generic, process-based, continuous green roof simulation model, which leading urban drainage (SuDS) software companies are keen to implement (David.Fortune@microdrainage.co.uk). We show for the first time that storm event return period analysis is critical for understanding how green roofs might mitigate against urban flooding. Within the University of Sheffield’s interdisciplinary Green Roof Centre, rigorous scientific understanding has been developed through the EU-funded ‘Green Roof Systems’ project (Ref: EU FP7 Marie Curie IAAP 230636, Industrial Partner: ZinCo, ralf.walker@zinco-greenroof.com).
