Additional information

This work contributed to Provis being awarded the 2013 RILEM L’Hermite Medal. A novel methodology for structure determination of complex disordered materials is presented. This approach has since been extended (LANL/Princeton; whitece@princeton.edu) to study disordered carbonates and calcium-silicate-hydrates, which are technologically important as geological minerals, in carbon capture and storage, and in most cements used worldwide (>3 Gt/yr).
