Additional information

Prediction of radiation effects in materials is complex, with structure and composition linked and competing. This work was the first to exclusively examine the effect of structural change, with no compositional modification, and showed that modifications in structure, previously postulated but now identified, does impact recovery. This work has subsequently been used in other research into radiation effects, using both experimental (DOI: 10.1021/jp2056283) and simulation based techniques (DOI:10.1088/0953-8984/23/43/435004), and has been requested as a topic in invited talks at international conferences/workshops (IMIR2010).
