Observation of Y(3940)→J/ψω in B→J/ψωK at BABAR

The confirmation of the Y(3940) particle reported here triggered the discovery of new particles: Y(4140) with the CDF detector (Physical Review Letters 102 (2009) 242002) and a 4316 MeV mass particle with the CMS detector (EPJ Web of Conferences 49(2013) 13007). The results are based on 800TB data collected with BABAR, a large scale particle detection system. I was Deputy Run Coordinator (role of coordination of the international team which operated BABAR) for a year. I used a fraction of these data in the feasibility studies of a new data analysis algorithm which lead to my EPSRC grant EP/F057997/1 (£311K).
