Additional information

This is the first time the power of multi-dual-mode(MDM) counter-current chromatography(CCC) has been demonstrated for the separation of chiral compounds. It also shows how the chiral selector can be recycled and re-used many times. The use of MDM in this case where the CCC operation is alternately switched from normal to reversed phase operation affectively enable high resolution separations on a short column by effectively lengthening it. This is also the first time successful chiral separations have been achieved using the new high performance CCC technology and has triggered further development of CCC chiral applications (Mekaoui et al, J.Chromatogr.A,1218(2011)6061)
