Isothermal nucleic acid amplification technologies for point-of-care diagnostics: a critical review
This was the first article to review isothermal nucleic acid amplification techniques since 2008 and the first to do so in the context of point-of-care diagnostics. This is a part of the on-going research funded by MRC (G0901608). The article's comprehensive assessment of amplification technologies and the wide interest in this space by academic and commercial parties have made this a frequently cited article and very widely accessed. The technical and scientific information presented has facilitated us and other interdisciplinary research teams to develop novel, less complex and easy to handle microengineered platforms for near patient and self- testing applications.
