Double-weighted statement

This monograph was contingent upon particularly complex and extensive periods of research in studio/production contexts. These processes necessarily took place over a period of years, allowing for exploration and re-exploration of ideas through a number of production processes in Europe (London, 2001/3/5; Turin, Italy 2005/6/7/8) and the USA (Chicago, 2007/8). The monograph combines this practice-base inquiry with detailed historical contextualisation of four choreographic works that preface core analyses of contemporised stagings. Further research across genres enabled corresponding praxis in theatre, music and history to illustrate parallels and potential ways forward for stagings in dance.
