We give algorithms to approximate the solution of fixed-point equations of the form X = f(X), where X is a vector of variables and f(X) is a vector of functions over X, where the functions are expressions built up from polynomials with non-negative coefficients, minimum- and maximum-operators. We present the first methods that converge at least linearly to the desired solution. We also compute epsilon-optimal positional strategies for the players in the associated stochastic games. The paper appears in ICALP, one of the flagship conferences of theoretical computer science.
