This volume, edited jointly by Timmermann and Andrews Reath (UC Riverside), is the result of a research project that included three meetings, two at St Andrews in 2006 and 2007 and a final one at Leiden 2008. Timmermann organised the first two meetings and, jointly with Andrews Reath, was responsible for liaising with the other authors, reading drafts and preparing the manuscript for publication. Timmermann contributed a central chapter of the volume, on the "Deduction(s)" in the Critique of Practical Reason (pp. 73–89).
