This research into cubesat technologies, system design, and applications has contributed to further small satellite work, including the European Commission-funded QB50 programme (a mission of 50 cubesats), to which Cranfield is contributing a cubesat. It also led to the organisation of an international 6U cubesat workshop in July 2012 at the Australian Centre for Space Engineering Research (http://www.acser.unsw.edu.au/events/cubesat.html). The concept has also received interest from a Russian start-up company founded by a former director of SSTL UK Dr. Wei Sun w.sun@dauria.ru
