Additional information
The novel computer program developed provides an automation formulation based on Hamilton’s principle leading to the governing partial differential equations of motion and the natural boundary conditions of beam structures as the free vibration of complex elatodynamic systems. This significant implementation of the integration procedure benefitted from symbolic computation has been solved for the first time for a long time to reduce the human cost. It establishes how computer algebra can form part of the standard armoury of aeronautical structural engineers and surely of many other fields.
