Additional information

<01> State-of-the-art device synthesis methods in the radio frequency integrated circuit design field either have good efficiency but highly depend on the accuracy of limited simplified models, or time-consuming, potentially impractical electromagnetic simulations. This paper presents the first microwave passive components synthesis method combining high solution quality and good efficiency. The surrogate model assisted evolutionary algorithm was introduced into RF IC design field through this work, leading to several consecutive research developments on cutting-edge problems in this area. This paper was one of the five candidates which were nominated to the IEEE Donald O. Pederson Best Paper Award 2013
