Additional information

<20>There are particular aspects of interface design for the elderly and disabled that are not particularly well handled by conventional HCI design principles. This paper delivers a new framework for such environments that focuses on particularly relevant features (simple, consistent, flexible, familiar, etc.). The framework has been successfully implemented and evaluated in the EU FP6 EASYLINE+ project, which designed a new range of simple-to-use kitchen appliances for the elderly and disabled.
