This co-edited collection of essays was one of the two book-length published outputs of the AHRC Research Grant: Ruskinian Theatre: The Aesthetics of the Late Nineteenth Century Popular London Stage, 1870-1901 (grant held 2004-07). The intellectual conceptualisation, commissioning,and refereeing/reviewing was equally shared by Newey and Richards as CI & PI respectively, together with Post-Doctoral Fellow Heinrich.
