Additional information

Established that full voltage induced wetting can be created using dielectrophoresis forces and introduced a cosine(theta) versus voltage squared relationship, in direct analogy to the established relationship in electrowetting. Funded (Wells) by underpinning EPSRC Platform grant "Exploiting the solid-liquid interface" (EP/E063489/1). The significance of the work was recognised by invited talks at 8th International Meeting on Electrowetting (21-23 June 2012, Athens) and SPIE/COS Photonics Asia (4-7 Nov 2012, Beijing, Paper PA107/8557: invitation from Kimio Tatsuno, Hitachi, Ltd. Japan and Bruno Berge, Varioptics, France). Applied in a proof-of-concept contract with Merck Chemicals Ltd (Chilworth, UK: O. Parri).
