ST Quartz Acoustic Wave Sensors with Sectional Guiding Layers

Publication of this pioneering work addressed optimisation of a widely used sensor type. It was the first publication to demonstrate this novel sensor modification, highlighting potential use in a number if sensing applications where surface chemical coatings are necessary on robust platforms. This work was accepted for presentation at the leading international conference in its topic area (IEEE Frequency and Control Symposium 2008). This led directly to European collaboration and further work with the principal biotechnology group in Cambridge University
