Solid-state NMR investigation of the possible existence of "Nanoblocks" in the clear solution synthesis of MFI materials
This work describes a methodology for determining the mechanism of formation of nanoporous materials that are used worldwide as shape selective catalysts. The work provides an insight in to how nanoporous materials are formed, which is of great importance for the design of new catalytic materials. The paper has led to several invited talks including from the German Zeolite Association (2012) and Canadian VIVA NMR symposium and was additionally presented at 2008 British Zeolite Association annual meeting. The methods used in this research have since resulted in follow-on-funding applications to the Leverhulme Trust and the Royal Society.
