Additional information

This work was funded by a BBSRC New Investigator award to Chari (£356 K, #BB/F013884/1) and provided proof of magnetic nanoparticle gene delivery to neural stem cells (NSCs). NSCs were propagated using the popular ‘neurosphere’ method used globally (including for human cells), highlighting the clinical translation potential of the findings. The work led to a BBSRC grant to Chari (£304K, #BB/J017590/1) in 2012, with several lecture invitations (including at Cambridge, Cardiff, Glasgow universities, King's College London, National Centre for Biological Sciences and Indian Institute of Science, India).
