Additional information
Published by the EU Marie Curie RTN-PARITY research team this work represents the culmination of efforts to establish that C-reactive protein (CRP) in fish has potential use as a biomarker of health in a similar manner to the use of CRP in humans in the clinical setting. This work was an important step in the formation of the subsequent EU Marie Curie ITN-NEMO team led by Keele which, with an industrial partner, is seeking new immunoprotectants to provide more cost effective protection for carp, the most economically important cultured fish in the world.
