Additional information

This research introduced a novel methodology addressing computational challenges caused by significant length scale disparities - specifically in film cooling. The potential of the block spectral method for more general multi-scale problems resulted in my invitation to speak at the Royal Society International Kavli Seminar on Jet Modelling (other invitees included Prof Dame A. Dowling), and at the 2nd European Multi-physics and Unsteady Simulation Colloquium. The method further strengthens the novel Immersed Mesh Block (IMB) methodology I am developing for a step-change enhancement of film cooling predictive capability for turbines (Contact: Turbine Aerothermal Functions, Rolls-Royce).
