Additional information
The concept of a threshold flux is based upon Prof. Field’s pioneering work on critical flux. The new approach can be considered to be a practical, industrially relevant form of the critical flux concept. The threshold flux concept led to a methodology that can be used in the design of facilities for drinking water (e.g. for the 100,000 m3/day Dongying Drinking Water Treatment Facility, Shandong, China) and in training courses for practitioners (e.g. in courses given by Prof. AG Fane, SMTC, Singapore).
