Additional information

This work targets new methods to fabricate miniature free-floating tags for surface combinatorial chemistry, for applications such as DNA decoding and drug discovery. This technology forms part of the portfolio of a spin-out company, Cambridge Biomagnetics Ltd, Dr Thanos Mitrelias (CEO), www.cambridge-biomagnetics.com. The non-contact reading of prototype barcode structures presented in this paper was achieved using micro-fluxgate technology developed in the Engineering Department, which is being exploited for industrial and laboratory applications through another spin-out company, Camjet Ltd (founder & director PA Robertson - details via Companies House, www.companieshouse.gov.uk).
