Additional information

The findings from this study have been incorporated in the currently drafted Geothermal piles standards by the Ground Source Heat Pump Association. The study initiated the funding of "Geo-Energy Systems Simulator: From Building scale to City scale" from the Low Carbon Energy University Alliance, which is the international collaboration among Cambridge University, Tsinghua University and MIT. It also generated industrial funding from BP on city scale geothermal modelling, and from Arup (with EPSRC ICASE) on deep geomechanics.
