Double-weighted statement

This book is the result of a great deal of reading in the fields of philosophy, musicology, ethnomusicology musical acoustics and philosophy. The book contains a large amount of original research on a number of contemporary composers in terms of analysis of writings, study of scores, and evaluation within a philosophical context. The book is original in its synthesis of elements of musicology and philosophy in a rigorously scholarly way. It presents a new conceptual approach to the analysis of contemporary opera and experimental music theatre and a music semiotics capable of tackling the specificity of modernist composition.
