The Association for Educational Assessment-Europe�s annual conference in 2010 was organised around the theme of �Managing Assessment Processes: Policies and Research� in response to my research work in this area, including this paper. I gave a keynote address and was asked to be a Guest Editor of the journal of the Association, with a special issue theme of �Assessment and accountability across Europe�.
