Women, Sport and Modernity in Interwar Britain
Monograph representing over four years' worth of primary research. All material has been researched in archives across Britain, including the National Archives of Scotland, Glasgow City Archives, Edinburgh City Archives, Dundee City Archives, the Lawn Tennis Association, Hockey Scotland, All England Women’s Fieldhockey Association, Scottish Lawn Tennis Association, Scottish Ladies’ Golf Union and Ladies’ Golf Association collections. I have also conducted 12 interviews and focus groups and used collections of interviews from Edinburgh University. This book, which is 236 pages long and has just under 800 references, represents an entirely new contribution to the field of sport and gender studies.
