Additional information

Elegant explicit analytical solutions are obtained for a general 3 dimensional short-crested wave interaction with a porous cylindrical breakwater. The analysis presented and the results of the parametric study not only provide significant insights of the 3D waves interaction with structures of non-uniform porosity, but have also directly led to the improved design of coastal and offshore structures (e.g., Xiao et al at Shanghai Jiao Tong University have used the analysis in the preliminary design of very large floating offshore base, Email: xiaolf@sjtu.edu.cn).
