The effective control of chaos in chemical reaction systems is crucial in order to mitigate long term unpredictability and non-uniform system performance which manifests as, for instance, irregular product concentration/selectivity as a chaotic reaction progresses. This paper describes the theoretical development of a new control algorithm that can be applied to regulate any chaotic system and demonstrates the superior performance of the new algorithm compared to a widely used alternative method.
