Additional information

This comprehensive double blind reviewed research article derives from a refereed paper presented at the ‘Making Conference’ (Notodden, Norway, 2012). The article develops a rigorous theoretical argument contributing to the scholarship of ‘making’. It critiques a narrowcast understanding, which reduces making to practical techniques acted out on materials and instead advances that all making is produced in material and narrative agencies. The article draws practical examples from consultancy the Pi Studio, Goldsmiths conducted with craftspeople in Korea and on student work that highlights distributed agency.
