Double-weighted statement

This is a monograph of c. 100 000 words. It is the product of ten years' work and required the systematic collection and analysis of a family of words in Greek and Latin - polypragmon, philopragmon, periergos, curiosus - the meaning of which develops significantly across the period covered (5th Century BC to 2nd Century AD). Research also involved reading of a number of very long texts in their entirety, not least Strabo's Geography and Pliny's Natural History. None of the work has been published elsewhere or outside the period for the current REF.
